The work responds to the spiritual awakening I experienced during a weekend retreat at the magical Nirrumpa near Mt Yengo in 2016 and throughout my journey to Peru in 2017. Sitting with Mother Nature I felt my whole world beginning to turn upside down. And it certainly has! And I feel so blessed to be walking this truth of our connectedness to everything and to experience the unconditional love of all creation. The painting began as a landscape with lots of red and imagery from Mt Yengo, a sacred site for Indigenous communities of the East Coast of Australia. Since coming back from Peru I felt I needed to bring the two experiences together in the work. Sometimes a painting evolves like that, waiting for the artist to bring all the elements together. I am so thrilled with the outcome! This work connects to the sacred feminine, to awakening to our truth, to healing and cleansing
