This painting represents the three journey’s back to my homeland of Iran since immigrating to Australia in 1984. The outline of the building is in fact the remains of my Grandfather’s house as I remember it when we first returned in 1990. I was 11 years old. The red silhouette of the girl is taken from a photograph one of me Uncles took of me the moment before we were about to board to train to Tehran and come to Australia. This piece returns to those memories and my connection with lineage.
